This static site is designed without analytics or advertising scripts. The hosting provider may process technical request data such as IP address, date and time, requested page, browser information and error logs to deliver and secure the site.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which processes this request data on behalf of the organizer. Cloudflare keeps the request logs of the site for 3 days. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The site sets no cookies of its own. The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends its IP address to Google Ireland Limited when a page opens. The upload form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots; Turnstile evaluates technical signals from your browser and does not use them for advertising.

The legal basis is the organizer's legitimate interest in delivering a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you submit an entry, the organizer will receive the information and files you send, such as your name, your email address or social media handle, your video and its title. This information is used to receive and assess entries, contact entrants, administer awards and document the competition.

The legal basis for handling an entry is your participation in the competition (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Showing and republishing an accepted entry is based on the consent you give with the checkbox on the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by email. Storing a hash of your IP address to stop abuse is based on the organizer's legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Entries are seen by the organizer's team and the jury. Cloudflare stores the files and records as the organizer's processor. No entry data is sold or passed to advertisers.

Accepted entries are kept after the competition ends as the archive of published entries. You can ask for your entry to be deleted at any time by writing to the address above.

An entry is stored as the uploaded video, a record of the form fields, the consent text with the time it was agreed, the original file name, the file size and the country reported by the hosting provider. The organizer reviews every entry before it appears in the gallery. The gallery shows entries without names, and the published copy of each video has its embedded metadata removed, including any recorded location, device model and author or title fields.

When you upload, the site also stores a keyed hash of your IP address, never the address itself. For an IPv6 address, only the network part of the address (the first 64 bits) is hashed. The hash is used for one purpose: to refuse further uploads from a person who has been blocked for abuse.

An entry that the organizer does not accept is deleted 30 days later: the video, the record and any preview image are removed, and the name, contact, title, file name and IP hash are cleared from the database. What remains is the submission ID, the dates and the fact that the entry was deleted. The same applies at once when the organizer deletes an entry by hand.

An upload from a blocked person is not stored: the video is deleted as soon as the upload finishes. The name, contact and IP hash given with it are kept for 30 days and then cleared in the same way. A block itself consists of the normalised contact or the IP hash and a note, and is kept until the organizer removes it.

If you email the organizer, your message and contact details will be processed to respond to your enquiry and manage the competition. Email providers may also process message data under their own terms.

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Contact the controller above to make a request.

The supervisory authority responsible for the organizer is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany (datenschutz-berlin.de).

This policy applies to the 2026 competition site and is updated when the site or the way it handles data changes.
